WildStang FIRST Robotics is an afterschool credit-bearing robotics course as well as a cocurricular activity open to all District 214 students.
In this hands-on program, students work closely with District 214 instructors and volunteer engineer mentors to develop skills related to the design, fabrication, programming and operation of robot systems. WildStang Robotics students participate in several competitions throughout the school year, including:
District 214’s WildStang FIRST Robotics Team has earned numerous awards since its launch in 1996, including the FIRST Robotics Championship in 2009 and 2011 and the FIRST Robotics Chairman’s Award and being named to the FIRST Robotics Hall of Fame in 2006.
The program serves as an enrichment opportunity for students interested in STEM careers.
