Other Early College Credit Opportunities
In addition to Advanced Placement (AP) and dual credit courses, District 214 offers other ways to earn early college credit.
District 214 students can independently enroll in coursework at a college or university allowing them to earn college credit while still in high school.
During the school day, students can participate in an honors online program through Arizona State University at District 214’s Early College Center. Seniors can take up to six courses, earning as many as 19 college credits through Arizona State University for completed coursework. This program is at the Forest View Educational Center.
During the summer or outside of the school day, students can independently enroll in college-level coursework at Harper College. Upon successful completion of these courses, students can request high school credit by submitting their official Harper College transcript to their counselor and registrar.
Illinois’ Seal of Biliteracy
District 214 students have the opportunity to earn the Seal of Biliteracy, the state of Illinois’ recognition for proficiency in English and one or more foreign languages. The Seal of Biliteracy gives students an opportunity to earn early college credit for a foreign language.
